classification of Anura
Class: Amphibia
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Order: Anura: meaning "without tail"
Life Span: 5 to 24 years
Species: over 5, 000
Neobatrachia – “Higher” Frogs. Main Groups of Terrestrial
Anura Vertebrates
Black Poison Dart Frog (Dendrobates auratus): ranging
between 7 and 17 years See Photos of Dendrobates
auratus
Giant Toad (Bufo marinus): ranging between 7 and
24 years
Oriental Fire-bellied Toad (Bombina orientalis):
ranging between 11 and 14 years
Ornate Horned Frog (Ceratophrys ornata) from 5 to
12 years
The frog is an amphibian in the order of Anura "tail-less",
Greek without + oura, tail, formerly referred to as
Salientia "to jump" from Latin
Frogs and toads are broadly classified into three
suborders:
Archaeobatrachia, which includes four families
of primitive frogs;
'Mesobatrachia, which includes five families of
more in the Animalia evolutionary intermediate frogs;
Mesobatrachia is the second largest of the Anura suborders
of amphibians. It contains 6 families, 20 genera
Neobatrachia,by far the largest group, which
contains the remaining 24 families of "modern" frogs,
including most common species throughout the world.
Neobatrachia are a suborder of order Anura, i.e. of
frogs or toads. And once again in the Animalia order.
Neobatrachia is further divided into the Hyloidea
and Ranoidea
Green poison dart frogs (Dendrobates auratus) belong
to a family of frogs that includes the world's most
poisonous amphibians.
Dendrobates auratus are chordata Anura
Pipoidea is sister to Pelobatoidea forming Mesobatrachia
of the Animalia species.

This classification is based on such morphological
features as the number of vertebrae, the structure
of the pectoral girdle, and the morphology of
tadpoles. While this classification is largely accepted,
relationships among families of frogs are still debated.
Future studies of molecular genetics should soon
provide further insights to the evolutionary relationships
among frog families.[{{cite journal|last=Faivovich|

of anurans hybridise readily. For instance, the
edible frog (Rana esculenta) is a hybrid of
the pool frog (R. lessonae) and the [[marsh
frog]] (R. ridibunda). Bombina bombina and
Bombina variegata similarly form hybrids, although
these are less fertile, giving rise to a [[hybrid
zone]].once agin in the Animalia order.
Whats Chordata? Chordata (Chordates)
The Chordata is the animal phylum with which everyone
is most intimately familiar, since it includes humans
and other vertebrates. However, not all chordates
are vertebrates. A frog is a chordata type as well.
It's a chordata Anura without tail.
