Before reading below, I wanted to say, that if you think you can get rich over night from adsense, then you need to look somewhere else. This information on this page is from my experience. Ive been a webmaster now for 8 years. If you don't get hits from your site, your not going to make any money, and why I'm thinking about it, never click on your own google ads, this will just get you banned from the program. How many hits do you need to make money? Well, the more hits the more money. And dont get your friends to click on your ads either. Google had built in programs and can figure out if the clicks are legit or not. If you already have a website and it gets traffic, terrific! You on your way to making a nice supplemental income with adsense.

Purchasing a domian name

www.GoDaddy.com the World's Largest Domain Registrar. Id go here just because it's the biggest and offers very good prices.

There's hundreds of web hosting companies out there. The best way is to host with the same company you purchase from. This way, they are connected, and you won't have to transfer your DNS server 1 and 2 over to your web hosting company that you signed up with.

Before you choose a domain name, you will need to think about it for a day or two. Why? Because your domain name, or whats inside of it directly affect your rankings on the web. For example, If i wanted a site for selling fish tanks, I would try for fishtanks.com first,that is taken.( Go Daddy has a name search on the top left hand side of there page.) Do you plan to sell fish tanks in your town only? If so, try this name: TampaFishTanks.com(currently available) If however you plan to sell online as well, Id try go for this name : onlinefishtanks which is available! Now, why does this matter at all? Let's say i want this name to sell my fish tanks: bobsworldoffish.com. Well, this wont do at all. I mean its a nice name sure, but search engines really don't care about nice names. Search engines look inside the domain name to see what its saying.

People searching for the names of bob might go to his site, our people looking for underwater things, but not people looking for fish or fishtanks. So when choosing your domain name, please take your time! If i was going to sell fishing poles online, i might try this one: fishingpolestackle.com, which btw is available! This name has: fish, fishing, fishingpoles, and tackle. This way you will get folks not only looking for fishing poles, but fishing tackle as well! A great way to do this is to plan ahead your site: using the following: Onlinefishing.com

Next, you can make separate pages for tackle, bait, supplies, etc.

Okay you have finally decided on your domain name after 3 months, now what do you do? You need to register the name. To make things easy on yourself, register the name the same place you plan on hosting, this way you wont have to transfer your DNS servers.

Time to design your webpage!

Okay, this is the fun stuff, you load pictures and write about how beautiful you are. Unless you are a geek, and know how to code HTML(hyper text mark-up langauge)in your webpage in note pad, or word document, your all set to move on to the next book! But if your like the most of us, we need a WYSIWYG html editor ( What You See Is What You Get) They code the html in the back ground so you won't have to look at it!

There are many free HTML editors, the link to one is below on my page. How can they be free? Well, you might have to see an ad every time you open it, or type something in. A little irrating, but hey, its free and its a good editor.

You have a few things to be concerned about for ranking your page. Your HTML tags need to be just right for good search engine indexing, this is where you will need to puchase from Submit Tools, link at the bottom of page. The site allows you to submit 100 URL's (single pages of your website) to 300 search engines. Im not affiliated with them nor do they have an affiliate program, they are just that good. I never could get my site to show up on any of the first pages of the internet, now, I can get on the first page and at the top! Thats what i call cool! Type in shockwave ecards and im under shockwave.com. Type in: the joy luck club and im on the front page! Here's the last one: the joy luck club cliff notes. Again on the front page!

Another important factor in getting listed high in a search engine is content! Just like this page. Lots of typed words! The more words, the better. Just dont, copy from somewhere else, because the serach engine spiders are pretty smart, and if they see you content, is the same as another website, your ranking has just now listing you about 6 pages back. So, dont copy content.

Adding google Adsense to your webpage

You have just completed your webpage and checked your html tags at Submit tools and everything looks good, now its time to add some google adsense to your page. You can choose text only, text and images, and image only ads to display. Choose only 3 more will get you banned.

Uploading your new webpage

Great youv'e made it this far now! Now you need to transfer your webpage to the server! All sites need a server, or your site will not be online. At the bottom of this page is a free FTP program. Simply type in a few things, such as your password, and the url and your on your way to millions! Its very basic, simple to use, will take you about 5 minutes to get it if your a newbie. After that it takes seconds to FTP new files

What is google adsense?

Google AdSense is a fast and easy way for websites of all sizes to display Google ads on their website and earn money for it. The basic scheme is this: Large corporate websites to mom and pop websites need traffic to their pages, the more traffic they get, the more chance they have on selling a product. With over 41 million websites to date its very hard for any to get exposure, so what many companies do is sign-up for google adwords which is a pay per click script. Companies will pay from 10 cents a click to $10.00 per click. Google takes a cut and gives you the remaining. Adsense is the opposite of adwords. You get paid for adsense, and adwords you have to pay for it. The ads displayed in the URL same as webpage (Uniform Resource Locator)is Google Adsense Ads.

Let me give you an example, Lets say you have a website about about oils and pastel painting. You simply, go to google and sign up for adsense. log-in, press my account upper right hand of your google home page

Next you press the adsense set-up.

Next, you choose the style and layout of the advertisement you want. Do you want a vertical ad? a Horizontal ad? You choose even the color of the ad so it blends into your website! Pretty cool huh? Below my ads have blended in to this page with a 728 X 90 Leaderboard. I chose red for the background and the words..

You get to also choose if you want only text in your ads, or pictures too. I do both, depending where i place the google adsense ads. Is there a limit of ads on a page? Yes, 3 ads per page is the limit currently. Also, do not ad text telling people to click your ads! This will get you banned from google adsense for good. Most ads typically pay around 10 cents per click to the owner of the site placing the ads, However, they range depending on the topic!

A topic such as Mesothelioma pays $4.78 per click to the webmaster. Now thats alot of money! Here's the catch though, If you choose Mesothelioma as your "Channel Word" in adsense.Your site must have Mesothelioma topics, or the adsense word will change to your relevant keywords. See how this works is this: Google Spiders, index your entire page, from your html title tags, keyword tags, and the word content on your page. Google adsense uses a program that spiders your URL, and lists the appropriate ads for your site. So if you tried to add Mesothelioma ads and your site was about frogs, then advertismenet about frogs would show up and the pay out would change based upon that. Now you could make a web page about Mesothelioma, but then again, adsense goes through your entire site, and makes its determination what will show up. I know because i tried that already.

You type in a channel, this is your keyword, so from the above you would type in Oils and pastel paintings, or maybe just Oil painting. It's up to you. You get 200 keywords from google to add to your web pages. You can delete them at any time and add new ones, but if you delete any, you will not get paid if someone clicks on it. After you have 50 webpages now,and alot of them are similair how can you tell what ads are doing the best?The best way to do it is this way:

List your Channels by the webpages: Keep a separate journal and munber every page.

Page1 Oils and Pastels ( type Page1 Oils and Pastels) into the channel box

Page2 Oils and Brushes

Page3 Oils and Canvass

When you look at your daily money intake, you can see what pages are generating the most income: Page1 Oils and Pastels $2.19, Page2 Oils and Brushes $3.25 and decide what pages you need to work on more.Doing it like this you can have up to two hundred web pages listed and organized.

OKay, you know how adsense works, but you don't have a webpage? listed below are some okay places to start, Why I say, ok, is because none of them are great, but they are free, the bad thing about many of these free hosting sites, is they place there own google ads in your free site. Of course you can still place your ads, but you have less control, less web space, and so on.......

This is the bread and butter of it all. After you made your great looking webpage, who's going to see it? Well, maybe 1 or two people might accidently by typing your url in the address bar, but odds of that are thin to none. I have been a web mastermaster for over 8 years, and only stumbled upon Submit tools, thank god i did. The price is 29 dollars per year. My site went to the front pages in a matter of 1 week! no kidding.

Now alot of people don't get rich, and still have to work full-time jobs, but if you devote your time to this like any other endeaver, you will reap your rewards.
